BFC membership is comprised of private and public owners, planners, engineers, architects, contractors, attorneys, financers, accountants, insurers, investors, and academia.

While most of the BFC memberships are supported by their own organizations, members serve as individuals and not as representatives of any special interest group. The BFC considers that its most valuable resource rests within the wealth of expertise and experience of its members.

BFC Member Profile
What does a BFC member look like?

  • They contribute, get involved and participate.
  • They are fired-up about our mission. They get it.
  • They tend to be self-motivated individuals. They believe their involvement makes a difference.
  • They are now, or will be, a leader. Leaders come from all walks of life and from all areas of our industry.
  • They show up, consistently. They are willing to make the sacrifices needed to prepare for and attend BFC meetings, and to do other work between meetings.
  • They value relationships and understand the incredible value that comes to them personally and to their organization by actively networking within the BFC.
  • They are comfortable being held accountable. They follow through on their work and can help drive the work of others. They are reliable.
  • They actively promote the BFC in their daily life. They may not always agree with everything said at BFC meetings, but they are BFC advocates.
  • They recommend improvements to the way in which the BFC operates.
  • They may have their own views, but are exceptional listeners; they value information and insight from others. They are here to learn, not for a pulpit.
  • They want to be a part of industry change and enjoy the multidisciplinary aspect of the BFC.
  • Ideally, they are recognized for innovation.
  • Most are well connected, or building a portfolio of relationships.
  • And, they look to the future with a strategic eye. They know that failing to do so will eventually pose a problem. They have the blend of imagination, curiosity, visioning skills, and industry insight to see the future better than other people.
